With the goal to expand and to provide an unforgettably sublime dining experience to every guest with every visit, our company was born in 2020 in Oakland, Pittsburgh, PA, and rapidly became an area staple. Atarashii (新しい) translates from Japanese to “new,” “fresh,” and “up-to-date;” and we embrace our name in everything we do, with concepts ranging from cafeteria models to fast casual restaurants. Oh, and yes, we know our name is misspelled and only has one “i.” That’s just how we roll!

Our teams are adeptly trained in the art of sushi, poké, and bentō boxes. What makes our company different from other Asian restaurants? Not only does Atarashi aim to serve only the freshest and most delicious of ingredients, but we also make Japanese cuisine accessible, affordable, and customizable. If you don’t see something you fancy on our handcrafted menus, you can build your own masterpiece, and perhaps your unique craving may become our next signature menu item.

The possibilities are endless!

In 1994, Wu-Shih-Lan opened its first “Hand-Shaken Tea” store in Tainan, one of the major cities in Southern Taiwan. Through determination, revision, and precision, the brand became an industry-leader, serving only the highest quality products to its patrons. Twenty-two years later, Wushiland Boba was born from Wu-Shih-Lan's desire to bring their mastered products across the ocean to the Americas – the logo depicting their signature boba carried on the back of a flying fish, many of which are native to Taiwan.

Today, HOJA! Brands carries the same goal — to deliver the authentic and nostalgic tastes of Taiwan to the United States — beginning with Wushiland Boba’s first-ever East Coast location in Pittsburgh,PA, perfectly matching the company’s signature black and yellow with the colors donned by our local sports teams. A taste of Taiwan meets the Steel City.

We guarantee the quality! We guarantee the process! We guarantee your smile!

In 2012, Sushi Fuku, or “Lucky” Sushi, was born from the belief that everyone should have a choice when it comes to their sushi, revolutionizing the way people in the Greater Pittsburgh Area viewed Japanese cuisine – even giving patrons the ability to make their favorite sushi into a bowl! Our tagline: Roll it or bowl it!

Perhaps, there was something lucky about it after all! With the brand-owned virtual kitchen on Oakland Avenue and a licensee-owned brick-and-mortar location on South Craig Street, we have lasted the test of time and continue to adapt to a dynamic industry.

Now, Sushi Fuku proudly serves the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University campuses and extends outward through third party services to ensure accessibility to custom creations extends beyond our cherished student body populations.

Fuku Tea was founded in 2014 as a sister-company for Sushi Fuku, with the hope to bring bubble tea beverages originally from Taiwan and popularized in the United States in New York City and Los Angeles to Pittsburgh, PA. Similarly to Sushi Fuku, Fuku Tea found “luck” and has been a staple in the Oakland Area for over a decade, giving guests the ability to make bubble tea their own. From our Signature Drinks to building your own creations, you can’t go wrong!

Part of what makes Fuku Tea a success story in the region lies in the way we brew. Where other concepts benefit from powdered flavors, we strongly believe in flavors sourced from tea leaves! That’s right; all of our teas are brewed from real tea leaves!
